MHFA Refresher Blended Online for Downer

The refresher course allows people who have previously completed a MHFA course to refresh their knowledge and skills and an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years. Participants will gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field, learn the 3 key actions to help someone experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours, and work through complex mental health first aid interactions.

Description

What's Involved in the course?

  • One facilitated session of 5 hours long.
  • Participants are eligible for a Refresher Course if they have attended a full Mental Health First Aid course or a Blended Online MHFA course equivalent and have become Accredited (within the last 3 years) by successfully completing the post-course Assessment.
  • Three years after completing a Refresher Course, MHFAiders will need to attend a full MHFA course to maintain their accreditation.

Identify the correct Downer billing entity when registering ie DOWNER EDI Pty Ltd, DOWNER EDI Rail, Spotless Services etc 

Select from the dates available above. There is minimum course numbers applied. We aim to fill courses to maximum 12 participants to keep the course costs to approximately $335.50 incl. GST per person based on 12 people in attendance.

Please note that once your manual is despatched, you are committing to attend the training – these costs are non-transferable and non-refundable.

The Standard MHFA content of each refresher course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

Participants will gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field, learn the 3 key actions to help someone experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours, and work through complex mental health first aid interactions.

As part of the MHFA refresher course you will:

• Gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field

• Work through complex mental health first aid interactions
• Practice mental health first aid skills.
• Receive the latest (version) MHFA Handbook prior to the course beginning (this will be sent to your nominated address)
