Additional FAQs
How will I be assessed for the NEBOSH certificate?
The assessment consists of an online open-book exam and a practical risk assessment. If you have not taken an online open-book exam before, the NEBOSH website has a good explanation of how it works and what you need to do.
What if I fail the assessment or exam?
If you get a ‘refer’ it means you haven’t achieved enough marks to pass and you’ll need to re-sit the exam. If you need to re-sit the assessment there is a charge of $250 which includes an hour of tutor support in advance of your re-sit. NEBOSH supports the right of Learners and/or Learning Partners to enquire about or appeal against an assessment result. NEBOSH call this an 'Enquiry About Result' (EAR). The timeframe for submitting an appeal is 20 working days from the results notification date of your examination. The NEBOSH website has more information on this, and links to the forms and the fees involved.
Which NEBOSH fees do HSE Global cover, and which do I pay?
HSE Global covers your assessment registration fee, but you will have to pay for other NEBOSH fees if needed, like appealing an exam result, or getting a replacement certificate if you lose it. Here’s a link to the list of NEBOSH fees.
What if I am unhappy with the course and want to make a complaint?
You can log a complaint with HSE Global as part of our complaint process, alternatively you can contact NEBOSH directly via their website.
